NOTIFICATION
Bombay, the 31st August, 1979

S.O. 503(E).—In exercise of the powers conferred on me
by Clause 22 of the Cotton Textiles (Control) Order, 1948,
I hereby make the following amendments to the Textile
Commissioner’s Notification No. CER/3/69 dated the 19th
September, 1969 namely :—

In the said Notification :—

1, After Paragraph IH E and the note given thereunder,
the following paragraph and the note shall be inserted
namely :—

‘THEE On non-controlled dhoti and non-control led garee
which arc sold in specified lengths, in addition to the marking*
to be made in accordance with this notification, the following
markings shall be made, namely :—

(i) On the face plait, immediately below the markings
made in accordance with tins notification, when
packed in pairs the words “MAXIMUM RETAIL
PRICE PER PATR” and the amount of maximum
retail price per pair in figures and the words “INC.
EXCISE DUTY AND ALL LOCAL TAXES" and
on the other end of the second piece when sold in
pairs, not exceeding 2.54 centimetres from the sel¬
vedge the words "MAXIMUM RETAIL PRICE
PER PAIR” and the amount of the maximum retail
price per pair in figures and the words “INC.
EXCISE DUTY AND ALL LOCAL TAXES”.

(ii) On the face plait immediately below the markings
made in accordance with thi9 notification, when
packed in singles the words “MAXIMUM RETAIL
PRICE PER PIECE” and the amount of the maxi¬
mum retail price per piece in figure* and the words
“INC. EXCISE DUTY AND ALL LOCAL
TAXES.”

Provided that nothing in this paragraph shall apply to
non-controHed dhoti or non-controlled sarec for which the
maximum retail price exceeds Rs, 6.36 per metre.

Provided further that the directions contained in Paragraph
IIIB shall not apply to non-controlled dhoti and non-control-
ed saree to which this Paragraph applie*.

Provided also further that the non-controlled dhoti or non-
controlled saree which are produced by the producer having
no spinning plant and which are further processed by a pro¬
cessor shall be stamped with the price in the manner indi¬
cated in this paragraph.

Note : (!) For the purpose of this paragraph the expression
■‘Maximum Retail Price” shall mean the retail price
per piece or per pair of dhoti or saree as the case
may be inclusive of excise duty payable thereon and
all local taxes, If any, payable.

(il) For the’ purpose of this paragraph, the term “pro¬
cessed by a processor” would also iuclude procew
of calendaring.

2. In paragraph IIIF after the figure and letter “HIE”
wherever they occur the word, figure and letters “and 1IIEE”
shall be inserted.

3. In paragraph Vin Sub-Para 2(a), after the figure letter
and mark “IIIE*’ and before the figure and letter ‘‘IIIF” the
figure, letters and mark “niEE” shall be inserted.'

4. In paragraph Vni Sub-Para (4), after the figure, letter
and mark “HIE”, and before the word, figure and letter “and
IIIF” the figure, letters and mark “HIEE”, shall be inserted."

5. This amendment shall come into force with immediate
effect.
